Part of the team behind Texas Jack’s Barbecue in Arlington, Roberts announced that he was developing a new concept in a 9,200-square-foot space at the Lumen (1755 Tysons Central Street) in March 2020 - just two days before COVID-19 sent Virginia into a state of emergency. More than one commenter on the Facebook announcement called the barbecue at Jack’s Ranch the best they’ve ever had. We made many wonderful and dear friends along the way. We are extremely humbled that so many embraced our restaurant and supported us on a regular basis. We brought Central Texas style barbecue to Tysons and had welcomed thousands of happy guests this year. We want to thank all of our wonderful guests, employees, and local businesses for supporting us. Although the landlord was extremely supportive and helpful throughout all of the challenges, we simply did not have enough runway ahead of us to continue operating at our full potential. The extended construction delays simply exhausted the financial reserves necessary to sustain our operations. It is with great sadness that we announce the closing of Jack’s Ranch at 1755 Tysons Central Street in Tysons VA, on July 31st 2022. In a message posted to the front door and website, owner Steve Roberts announced that the restaurant had closed on Sunday (July 31) after the prolonged construction process ate up too much of the business’ finances for operations to continue: Just over two months later, however, Jack’s Ranch has shut down again - and this time, it could be permanent. Perhaps Jack’s Ranch just wasn’t meant to be.Īfter months of delays and interruptions due to the pandemic, the barbecue and Italian restaurant finally opened at the Lumen Apartments in Tysons with its full menu in place on May 20.
